As president and CEO of Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Spectrum Health, Decker led a merger in 2021 with Southfield, Michigan-based Beaumont Health to create a $12 billion system with 22 hospitals, more than 300 clinics and 64,000 employees. The Spectrum-Beaumont combination was rebranded as Corewell Health in October. Since then, Decker has been busy establishing a corporate culture and consolidating operations–making cuts in administrative roles where there were redundancies while continuing to hire for patient-facing roles. She has worked to share best practices across the system and invested in surgical robots and information technology, among other tools. Decker joined Spectrum in 2002 as an administrative fellow, and within 10 years was named president of Spectrum Health United and Kelsey hospitals.
