CEO, Oak Street Health
Pykosz, who has been CEO at Oak Street since 2013, remains focused on growing the model of primary care centers for Medicare patients. The company operated 161 centers as of the third quarter, with plans to add dozens more by 2024. It has also piloted a collaboration with Walmart to operate retail clinics in several of the chain’s stores. Late last year, Oak Street acquired telehealth startup RubiconMD for $130 million, allowing the centers to fold virtual specialty care into their offerings. Oak Street has also developed its own technology stack, including a proprietary electronic health record—built to meet the company’s unique needs, but also creating the possibility of alternate revenue streams down the line.
