Micky Tripathi
National coordinator for health information technology, Department of Health and Human Services
Tripathi has been working as the national coordinator for health information technology since January 2021 to define the scope of the 21st Century Cures Act, which aims to promote interoperability among health systems. He called 2022 a “transformative” year for health information and technology, noting the potential for a paradigm shift away from unstructured records too unwieldy to extract, store or analyze. Tripathi has also expressed hopes about the rule requiring health IT developers to adopt programming interfaces that allow data sharing. Before taking the reins at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information and Technology, Tripathi worked at Arcadia, a healthcare data and software company focused on population health management and value-based care.
