President and CEO, AHIP
Since being named to the top job in 2018, Eyles has lobbied on behalf of his member health insurance companies to promote access to better, more affordable care by calling for more competition. The association is a strong defender of private Medicare Advantage, citing lower costs, more choices and better access to benefits. Eyles’ priorities for improving access to healthcare and reducing costs also include supporting home-based care, telemedicine and value-based care models. Earlier this year, he called on Congress to extend subsidies that cap healthcare premiums under the American Rescue Plan. Before joining AHIP in 2015, he held senior executive positions at Coventry Health Care, now part of Aetna, and Wyeth, which is now a subsidiary of Pfizer. He also worked as a consultant at Avalere Health.
