Miller began his career with Universal Health Services in 1995, working his way up to president in 2009 and CEO in 2021. Under his leadership, the investor-owned healthcare chain has been expanding its services through collaborative efforts, such as its joint venture with Trinity Health Michigan to open a 60-bed behavioral health facility together. UHS also inked a deal with Valley Children’s Healthcare to build a 128-bed behavioral health hospital that includes units for children and adolescents, set to open in 2023. This year, UHS also became the sole owner of George Washington University Hospital, with the aim of becoming a destination academic medical center.
