Kenneth Raske
President and CEO, Greater New York Hospital Association
Raske’s organization represents the interests of 250 nonprofit hospitals and continuing care facilities in the greater New York City area, including parts of Connecticut, New Jersey and Rhode Island. In 2022, he testified before the New York Senate, calling for continued aid to navigate ongoing fallout from the pandemic. He advocated for paying hospital staff bonuses to keep them onboard as well as to reward them for their sacrifices. He criticized a proposed 1% Medicaid rate increase as woefully inadequate, noting the lack of an inflation adjustment for Medicaid providers in 14 years. In addition, he drew attention to lack of Medicaid funding for mental health services. Before becoming president in 1984, he worked as senior vice president and deputy director at the Michigan Hospital Association.
