Decker is responsible for managing UnitedHealth Group’s fast-growing health services arm, which saw revenue per customer climb 31% in the third quarter of 2022. Since being named OptumHealth CEO in 2019, Decker has been expanding value-based contracts and building the health services business in primary care, home health and online platforms. Last year, Decker was responsible for adding 10,000 physician practices to the Optum unit, bringing the total number of employed physicians to about 60,000. Before joining Optum, Decker spent more than two decades at Mayo Clinic, most recently as chief medical information officer for Mayo and CEO of Mayo Clinic in Arizona. He led adoption of digital technologies such as telemedicine and artificial intelligence.
