Dr. Steven Corwin
President and CEO, NewYork-Presbyterian
Corwin leads an integrated academic healthcare organization with 10 hospitals, 200 clinics and two medical schools: Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Since his appointment in 2011, Corwin has significantly expanded the system’s reach and led development of cutting-edge services and facilities. In November, New York-Presbyterian-Columbia led a study to test a novel way to treat brain cancer through an implantable pump. The health system also announced expansion of its prominent heart transplant program, which is based at the Columbia University campus, to include its Weill Cornell location, with plans to provide heart failure care throughout the region. Corwin has spent his entire career at NewYork-Presbyterian, beginning his internal medicine residency and cardiology training there in 1979.
