Before becoming CEO in 2019, Klibanski was the healthcare system’s chief academic officer and chief of neuroendocrine at Massachusetts General Hospital. She now oversees the largest health system in the state, which generated about $16 billion of operating revenue in 2021. Mass General Brigham operates 12 hospitals, five of which are academic. This year, Klibanski helped push through a $2 billion expansion for two of Mass General Brigham's Boston-area hospitals. Over the next two years, the system also plans to expand beyond brick-and-mortar facilities, shifting 200 beds into homes.
