President and CEO, Orlando Health
Since his appointment to the top job in 2015, Strong has bolstered the health system’s reputation for providing high-quality specialty services. The 13-hospital system opened a pancreatic cancer multidisciplinary clinic in November, and its Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies houses one of the nation’s largest neonatal intensive-care units. Among other complex specialty services, Orlando Health offers open fetal surgery to repair the most severe forms of spina bifida, according to the organization. The system also operates an innovation venture fund that has invested in early-stage healthcare technology companies. Before joining Orlando Health, Strong was president of Rex Healthcare, part of UNC Health Care.
