In his role at Intermountain, Liljenquist has built a framework for innovation through collaboration. He is the lead architect and board chair for the generic drug company Civica Rx, an initiative launched in 2018 among Intermountain and six other health systems representing about 500 U.S. hospitals. He is also board chair for Graphite Health, launched in 2021, of which Intermountain is an organizing member. The digital healthcare company’s focus is on interoperability, with a goal for health systems to be able to communicate with one another across the country through a common digital language. Before joining Intermountain in 2012 as director of special projects in population health, Liljenquist served in the Utah State Senate, where he worked on Medicaid reform.
