President and CEO, Federation of American Hospitals
Kahn has led the association representing the nation’s for-profit hospitals and health systems since 2001. In the past year, he has continued to help shape healthcare policy and advance the agenda of his more than 1,000 member organizations. In November, he warned that rural providers are facing looming payment cuts in 2023, and called on Congress to intervene. Among those are Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Act requirements that could lead to $37 billion in reductions to Medicare reimbursements in 2023, with the cuts especially dire for smaller community hospitals. Kahn is the only leader who has appeared on Modern Healthcare’s annual list of the 100 Most Influential every year since the first one was published in 2002.
