President and CEO,
Jobe, who became CEO in 2018, uses his clout as the head of one of the largest group purchasing organizations in the U.S. to push for supply chain solutions and share best practices with his members. The sheer size of Vizient’s contracts—representing more than $130 billion in annual purchasing volume and serving more than 60% of the country’s acute-care providers, including 97% of academic medical centers—allows the company to observe trends and drive change. In late 2021, the company announced the formation of a coalition of industry stakeholders in an effort to prevent drug shortages through promoting transparency. The alliance has since been joined by nearly 100 organizations.
