For 15 years, Malone has worked to advance the field of nursing education by keeping pace with emerging trends in healthcare and wellness. In September, the NLN under her leadership released a vision statement citing climate change as among the most urgent crises in public health today. Malone is a vocal advocate for addressing health disparities and social determinants of health. To that end, NLN—which represents nearly 45,000 individual and 1,100 institutional members—is working with Walden University to support development for nurse educators through its Nursing Institute for Social Determinants of Health and Social Change.
