Ozuah has led the academic health system since 2019. He strives to provide cutting-edge services to underserved groups by combining Montefiore’s clinical expertise with Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s research capabilities. In addition to the medical school, Montefiore includes 10 hospitals and more than 200 outpatient sites. As part of Ozuah’s work on whole-community services, he has secured a grant for a multidisciplinary research center to treat chronic pain and opioid use. He has also fought to increase vaccination rates, encourage the availability of healthy food choices at local bodegas, advance asthma education and promote better cleanliness and pest control in New York City housing projects.
