Dr. Laurie Glimcher
President and CEO, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women's Hospital
In 2016, Glimcher became the first female CEO of Dana-Farber, where she focuses on access to care, medical education and health policy. She is a leading immunologist who has gained world recognition for her work in cancer research. What brings her the most joy, she says, is serving as a mentor for the next generation of physician scientists. Glimcher speaks widely on cancer, immunology, and translational medicine, and has written more than 350 articles and papers. She was the first female dean of Weill Cornell Medicine College in 2012, where she doubled the school’s research space with a $650 million 18-story building in 2014. Dana-Farber has two main campuses and operates five other locations with a sixth to open later this summer.
