Dr. Farzad Mostashari
Co-founder and CEO, Aledade
Leveraging his medical background and health policy experience, Mostashari has built a company that partners with practices and shares risk for the cost of care provided, based on his belief that “having skin in the game has an incredible focusing effect.” Under his leadership, Aledade, founded in 2014, now manages about $17 billion in healthcare spending through value-based contracts, with a network of more than 1,000 independent primary-care practices delivering care to upwards of 1.7 million patients. This year, Mostashari led the launch of a new health services unit called Aledade Care Solutions, which will incorporate newly acquired Iris Healthcare, a provider of advance care planning services. Mostashari previously served as national coordinator for health information technology at the Department of Health and Human Services from 2011 to 2013.
