Wang heads the largest not-for-profit health plan in New York state and one of the largest regional insurers serving Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries in the country. Healthfirst was on track for its 2020 operating margin to exceed 5%. It returned more than $400 million to the local delivery system last year under value-based payments. Wang has a significant say on health policy, too, serving on the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, as well as state task forces on vaccine equity and the Medicaid budget. More than 35% of Healthfirst’s executive team is female.
