Lynch was promoted to CEO of CVS Health Feb. 1, replacing Larry Merlo who retired. Previously, Lynch was president of the company’s insurance unit, Aetna, where she helped grow Medicare Advantage membership and incorporate HealthHUBs into Aetna’s offerings. She takes over CVS as the retail chain is preparing to ramp up COVID-19 vaccinations to the broader public. During the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference in mid-January, Lynch said CVS expects to administer between 20 million and 25 million vaccines per month. In late January, CVS announced it had conducted vaccinations at 8,000 skilled-nursing facilities.
