Butts has held multiple roles at Lakeland, including industrial engineer, director of organization effectiveness, and now, associate vice president. She’s had considerable success along the way, including launching a center for metabolic and bariatric medicine, which has exceeded volume expectations; working with emergency department leaders on patient throughput programs that resulted in 80% of patients being seen and/or treated within three hours; and working with pharmacy and ED leaders on an infusion program for patients who lacked access or resources to get the care they needed. The new infusion program improved patient compliance and ended up saving $543,000 in the first year.
