As a leader on Health Catalyst’s COVID-19 task force, Rimmasch worked with multiple health systems to help them develop efficient and effective response strategies to the pandemic. She led efforts for Health Catalyst to roll out nine new solutions aimed at helping health systems get better surveillance data and to develop containment strategies. For example, her team worked with Carle Health to develop a forecasting tool to better plan bed, staffing and supply needs, which enabled the Southern Illinois-based health system to plan well in advance for surges. At UofL Health, Louisville, Ky., her team developed a vaccine inventory management tool that helped the organization move from a manual system to an automated one that improved forecasting. The health system saw scheduled vaccinations increase 30% per week once the tool was implemented.
