Since joining Lakeland in 2013, Boynton has raised more than $67 million in contributions from individual and corporate donors and in 2019 was named an emerging philanthropy leader under 40 around the globe by the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy. His fundraising helped create the Carol Jenkins Barnett Pavilion for Women and Children. He also helped establish an employee giving program with over 76% participation. During the pandemic, he scheduled first weekly, then daily, updates and news conferences to keep the public informed on developments, pairing the hospital CEO with leading physicians to be key spokespeople.
