Mullin was promoted to his role in September 2020 after leading the system’s specialty hospitals as chief operating officer. Under his leadership, the specialty hospitals saw referral rates climb 10% and revenue increase 13.1% in 2020. He oversaw efforts to improve care coordination, including launching a transitions program to identify when a patient needs to be moved to the next level of care. Mullin also led the creation of a just-in-time ordering process for personal protective equipment across the system.
