Bandel founded East Post Road Ventures, the hospital’s innovation group that provides pre-seed, seed and early-stage investments to fund care delivery and medical device inventions. Since launching in 2019, the venture has funded a number of innovations, including a nanosensor to improve care for rheumatoid arthritis patients, a blood pressure measurement device the size of a standard key fob, and a remote patient monitoring and engagement tool that uses cloud-based wearable devices.
