Since launching in 2014, the Affordable Care Act exchange plan has boosted market share every year, going from 3% market penetration to nearly 76%. Its retention rate hovers around 80%. The commercial line that McClaine oversees has since 2017 added $56.7 million in net income. In 2020, McClaine took on responsibility for member benefits and payment policy and in 2021 the company’s average premium was $166 lower than its competitors. She is working to add coverage for in-office interpreters and doula services, as well as waiving cost-sharing for hypertension drugs.
