Top Diversity Leaders in Healthcare - 2021

Under Tejeda’s leadership, The Hospitals of Providence – Tenet Healthcare, has grown to become El Paso, Texas’ largest healthcare network with over 60 access points. He has focused on building a diverse leadership team, which now consists of over 80% minority leaders. He formed an alliance with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso to open one of the country’s newest academic medical centers and residency programs to address workforce diversity issues. He also serves as a mentor across the industry, including as a faculty member at the not-for-profit Bluford Healthcare Leadership Institute, which works to eliminate health disparities among minority and vulnerable populations.
