Witt has made diversity, equity and inclusion a hallmark of her tenure at the critical-access hospital. She boosted diversity representation in the leadership ranks 22% between 2019 and 2020 and challenged her peers to make similar efforts to expand their recruiting efforts. She ensured that a comprehensive diversity strategy became a key piece of the hospital’s overall 2020 strategic plan and also has stayed focused on core business goals, overseeing efforts that resulted in gross patient revenue growing 10% during the pandemic and 74% over the past six years.
