Palermo leads efforts to forge partnerships with senior leaders, faculty and students to develop and implement effective—and accountable—diversity, equity and inclusion efforts at Mount Sinai. While serving on the medical school admissions committee, she’s helped ensure that over 20% of enrolled students in science and medicine for the past decade are from underrepresented populations. She also serves on the system’s Task Force to Address Racism and will be a key leader in implementation of 11 strategies and 55 interventions aimed at building an anti-racist culture.
