Before being named CEO, Rodriguez led DaVita Kidney Care, which treats patients with kidney failure and end-stage renal disease. Previously he worked in finance for Baxter Healthcare and in operations for CBS Marketing in Mexico City. He serves on the board of Gilead Sciences and signed the CEO Action Pledge for Diversity and Inclusion. He earned his master’s degree from Harvard Business School.
Rodriguez speaks: “It is a very human experience when you see the people going through literally life-sustaining therapy. As I spent time in clinics, I just grew so much respect and regard for our team. The nurses, the technicians, the social workers—they are on their feet, they are doing all sorts of things for our patients who have a lot of needs. I just remember feeling good about the human spirit and people doing good things all day.”
