Dr. Kimberlydawn Wisdom
Senior vice president of community health and equity, and chief wellness and diversity officer, Henry Ford Health System
Wisdom runs one of the most successful maternal health programs in the country. A board-certified emergency medicine physician, she chairs the Gail and Lois Warden Endowment on Multicultural Health and was Michigan’s first surgeon general. She has served on the faculty of University of Michigan Medical School while founding organizations like African American Initiative for Male Health Improvement and the Women Inspired Neighborhood (WIN) Network.
Wisdom speaks: “If we’re going to really reverse some of these trends and truly heal populations with people who have significant challenges and persistently see health disparities, it’s going to take a very diverse village to help address these problems. And it starts with understanding the historical factors that have contributed to these myths.”
