Dr. Gianrico Farrugia

Before taking the helm, Farrugia served as vice president of the Mayo Clinic and CEO of Mayo Clinic in Florida, which emerged as a destination medical center for the Southeast U.S. Farrugia was director of Mayo Clinic’s Center for Individualized Medicine, which integrates genomics with clinical care, and co-founder of the Center for Innovation at Mayo Clinic. His medical career at Mayo spans 30 years.
Farrugia speaks: “We have to really be diligent about focusing on what we can do to prevent people from getting sick. And if they’re sick, how can we prevent them from entering into an ICU? And then once they get into an ICU, how can we make sure that their stay is as brief as possible?”
