Berdan previously was senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, having arrived at Texas Health Resource in 1986 as vice president/administrator for Texas Health Southwest. He worked with American Medical International for nine years, leading hospitals in Arkansas, Florida and Texas. He also worked at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Jackson Park Hospital, both in Chicago. He is a board member of Premier and an executive committee member of the Healthcare Leadership Council.
