Albert Bourla

Pfizer-BioNTech was the first COVID-19 vaccine to receive to receive emergency use authorization in December 2020 and the first COVID vaccine to receive full Food and Drug Administration approval for people ages 16 and older in August 2021. In his 25-year career with Pfizer, Bourla has served as chief operating officer, group vice president of Pfizer Innovative Health and group president of Pfizer’s Global Vaccines, Oncology and Consumer Healthcare business. Bourla is a doctor of veterinary medicine with a Ph.D. in the biotechnology of reproduction.
