Manzano oversees quality, patient safety, infection prevention and control, as well as Joint Commission and regulatory compliance for the health system. She founded the Center for Professional Nursing Practice at New York-Presbyterian, which helps nurses train for leadership positions and to serve as mentors. She also helped establish joint faculty appointments for nurse scientists with the Columbia University School of Nursing and spearheaded a new master’s program in advanced clinical management and leadership. She serves as president of the American Nurses Foundation board of trustees.
