Kingston leads nearly 22,000 nurses in Illinois and Wisconsin. She was named the clinical co-lead of Advocate Aurora’s COVID-19 incident command center, which coordinated work of 75,000 staff at 26 hospitals and 500-plus ambulatory sites. She oversaw education and training programs for clinical teams during the pandemic, as well as the creation of a virtual system to manage staffing, providing 24/7 access to shift needs and the ability to reassign staff. She also helped launch a listening tour with Johnson & Johnson, the American Nurses Association and the American Organization for Nursing Leadership around the future of nursing post pandemic. Kingston serves on the American Hospital Association board of trustees and co-chaired the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s National Steering Committee for Patient Safety's workforce safety subcommittee.
