Under Harrison’s leadership, Intermountain continues to push the envelope with innovations across almost all sectors of operations. That includes the February 2021 announcement of a DNA-mapping effort aimed at improving understanding of genetics and disease in children, and to eventually create new treatments. It’s an extension of a larger effort Intermountain announced in 2019. Intermountain also pushed forward with new payment and care delivery models, including a rethinking of primary care. The efforts have resulted in reduced ED visits and inpatient admissions.
