Dr. Eric Wei
Senior vice president and chief quality officer, NYC Health + Hospitals
When New York City was dealing with one of the heaviest surges in COVID-19 patients, Wei helped spearhead an effort manage patient flow and volumes at the public health system’s 11 hospitals. He also oversaw planning for a second surge, especially related to worker training and allocation of resources. Wei has been instrumental in helping the system confront staff well-being as well. In 2018, he launched the Helping Healers Heal program, which aims to address staff burnout. He is the fellowship director for the NYC Health + Hospitals Clinical Leadership Fellowship and launched the Healthcare Administration Scholars Program across five of the health system’s sites.
