Dr. Augustine M.K. Choi
Dean, Weill Cornell Medicine
Weill Cornell Medicine clinicians are staffing a new Center for Community Health that the medical college opened in partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian. The center’s aim is to provide a more holistic approach to care for patients. Innovations and partnerships under Choi’s leadership don’t stop there. Weill also expanded its biomedical education curricula to a new program at Houston Methodist. In 2020, he was elected to National Academy of Sciences. Besides his clinical work, Choi has used his voice to call more attention to racism and acts of violence against Asian-Americans. And the Mastercard Impact Fund awarded Weill a $5 million grant to launch new set of diversity initiatives, including a mentorship program.
