The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology’s “Step Forward” video campaign showcased certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) as COVID-19 experts working in environments independent of physician supervision. AANA distributed the CRNA videos via social media posts on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Paid and organic posts resulted in 7,721 pageviews, while organic posts achieved 32,770 impressions. The campaign also made headway in persuading legislators and regulators to re-evaluate physician supervision of CRNAs.
