Thomas was a key figure in leading the integration for what is now Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, a partnership between Baptist Health and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center of Houston. Across Baptist Health, she helped launch the African-American Steering Committee, which offers advice and direction on ways to improve opportunities and retention for African-American staff.
