Trevor Brand,
27
Chief of staff and assistant vice president, strategic initiatives, Cancer Treatment Centers of America
Brand joined CTCA in May 2019 and immediately began addressing some of the organization’s most daunting challenges, including declining reimbursements and stagnant volumes. He orchestrated an effort to eliminate $50 million in year-over-year expenses, identifying cost savings in such areas as supply chain, information technology, patient travel and professional fees. CTCA exceeded that goal, achieving total savings of nearly $100 million. He also spearheaded efforts to grow network access with payers across the nation, with appointments for some insurers rising by 58%. During the pandemic, he coordinated daily scheduling huddles with market presidents to develop plans for patients to be able to keep their appointments. Cancellations fell by 41% during COVID-19 spikes in the spring.
