Aaron Chang,
37
Former chief operating officer, St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital/CommonSpirit Health
Chang had a big hand in turnaround efforts that resulted in service line growth, financial stability, and improvements in patient satisfaction and quality. Over two years, the results included a 15% average drop in turnaround times to clean rooms, process lab specimens and get images. That led to a net decrease of 0.24 days for the average hospital length of stay and a savings of about $2 million. (Note: Chang became president of Sisters of Charity Hospital in early October, after the Top 25 selection process had closed.)
