Collis became president and CEO of the Fortune 500 company in 2011 and added the chairman role in 2016. The company played a major role in boosting the industry’s supply chain during the early days of the pandemic. Heading into 2021, AmerisourceBergen has contracted with the federal government to be part of the vaccine distribution network, including agreeing to include its Good Neighbor Pharmacy and Elevate Provider Network members in the strategy. AmerisourceBergen in November also signed up to immediately ship 300,000 doses of Eli Lilly’s antibody treatment. During its year-end earnings call, AmerisourceBergen reported that it reserved about $6.6 billion to settle claims that drug distributors fueled the U.S. opioid epidemic.
