Stéphane Bancel
CEO, Moderna
Moderna has been at the forefront of developing a coronavirus vaccine for months. And in November, the company released preliminary analysis showing that its coronavirus vaccine is 95% effective at preventing illness. The company says it will be able to deliver 20 million doses of vaccine by the end of this year, enough to inoculate 10 million people since it is a two-shot process. But during the Bloomberg New Economy Forum, Bancel cautioned that vaccines were “not a silver bullet.” He said stronger surveillance and reinforcing public health measures like masking and social distancing are critical.
