Dr. Jerome Adams
U.S. surgeon general, HHS
Described by the Washington Post as possibly the nicest guy in the Trump administration, Adams has taken on the task of convincing Americans that a COVID-19 vaccine, when available, will be safe. And although he has not been as high profile as other members of the administration’s Coronavirus Task Force, Adams has been one of the most vocal public health officials about the virus’ disproportionate impact on people of color. Before the pandemic struck, Adams was active in fighting the anti-vax movement and spreading the word about naloxone to help in the fight against opioid deaths.
