Bell started her career as a pediatric nurse at CHOP in 1983. She took on roles elsewhere in hospital administration and was named CHOP president and CEO in 2015. The health system continues to grow under her leadership and in March 2020 announced a $3.4 billion expansion project. During the COVID-19 crisis, CHOP PolicyLab developed one of the nation’s first modeling tools to look at county-specific data.
