Klasko continued to propel the Philadelphia-based system toward greater adoption of value-based care. Jefferson launched a new employee health plan that tapped into artificial intelligence and genomics. A partnership with Livongo, for instance, resulted in a 17% drop in the cost of caring for employees with Type 2 diabetes. Klasko has also focused attention on addressing equity of care. He tied 25% of his salary to reducing health disparities. In 2018 and 2019, Jefferson raised $14 million for the Philadelphia Collaborative for Health Equity.
