Dr. Rod Hochman
President and CEO, Providence
Hochman oversees one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit health systems with 51 hospitals and more than 1,000 clinics. Washington state was hit early and hard with coronavirus cases, and Providence in early March was one of the first systems to put a hold on inpatient and outpatient COVID-19 billing. At the time, Hochman told Modern Healthcare the decision was made to remove any barriers patients may have felt about getting tested and treated. He’s the American Hospital Association’s 2021 board chair.
