As vice president of product services, Stump has been focused on three core areas: empowering members, harnessing innovation and exceeding expectations. In the first area, his team created a site-of-service benefit design, allowing members to get selected care, such as preventive colonoscopies or lab tests at free-standing sites rather than a hospital or outpatient setting. It’s resulted in significant cost savings for members. On innovation, Stump’s team is tapping into digital solutions to address such areas as asthma, maternity, infertility and COPD. Although relatively new, the programs are showing positive results. One—Naturally Slim—has shown that 35% of individuals have lowered their risk of diabetes and 67% increased their level of physical activities.
