Shaw became president and CEO of the 46-hospital AdventHealth System in 2016 after more than three decades with the organization. Shaw described his leadership style to Modern Healthcare this August as favoring “co-creation” when developing a critical strategy. He also said Advent uses design-thinking methodology in improving consumers experiences, and favors diversity and inclusion in the workplace. AdventHealth in May announced it was buying two Florida hospitals from Community Health Systems.
